Ciò che colpisce fin da subito è l’estrema aderenza dei copertoni da 3.0 senza sentire più di tanto l’aumento di attrito dovuto alla maggiore impronta a terra.
In pedalata si comporta molto bene, nonostante il peso non sia poco, evitando fastidiosi affossamenti dell’ammortizzatore, che invece rimane molto progressivo.
Grazie alla maggiore trazione in salita l’unico limite lo raggiungono le gambe ed il peso della bicicletta, ma avendo la doppia corona all’anteriore i limiti sono davvero alti per una bici di questo tipo.
Il bello naturalmente arriva quando si “aprono” le sospensioni e ci si butta in discesa. Forka e ammortizzatore lavorano molto bene e assorbono facilmente le asperità del terreno…e qui la maggiore trazione dei copertoni viene pienamente apprezzata, soprattutto in percorrenza di curva.
Nel complesso la bici mi è piaciuta molto anche se probabilmente la scelta più azzeccata potrebbe essere la versione in carbonio che, grazie ad una maggiore leggerezza, renderebbe la Pony Rustler ancora più agile e facile da spingere in salita.
